        Overview

Ray Young, a member of the Eastbourne Cine Club, captured Eastbourne's carnival atmosphere in this colourful film from 1964. Thousands line the promenade to see a procession of imaginatively decorated floats, pipe bands, drum majorettes and costumed townsfolk make their way through the town. Many of the participants and many of the floats have chosen costumes with Film and TV themes and you can see references to Dr. Who, the Beverly Hillbillies and Fu Manchu.
