East End's Royal Visitors
Flowers, flag-waving and royal handshakes as Queen Mary and the Duke Of Gloucester, the Queen’s third son, visit a hospital in Stratford.
From the collection of:

Overview
This royal visit features George V’s wife, Queen Mary, at a hospital in Stratford with the Duke Of Gloucester, Prince Henry, her third son. Children give the Queen flowers before she heads outside past two lines of nuns, heads bowed respectfully, behind which enthusiastic flag waving takes place. The caption gives the hospital as St Mary’s, Stratford but it appears to be Queen Mary’s, which closed in 1983 and was later demolished.
