Overview

The Duchess of Kent – whose husband was the Grandmaster – opens a new care home for elderly Masons built just outside York by the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution. The film carefully records the occasion, conducted before 2,500 onlookers including many leading Masons. She then tours the “modern, tasteful” facility, complete with hairdressing salon and billiard table. This was the fourth such home built by the institution.
