Overview
January 1929 was "remarkable for its persistent and pronounced coldness", but the Buxton locals in this lively newsreel keep warm by hurtling downhill on toboggans and skis before pelting each other with snowballs. It's not quite St Moritz, but there's still some impressive speed on display. Keep an eye out for one of Topical Budget's cameramen at his tripod as the sleds whizz past.
