Cunarders at Southampton

Graceful Cunard liners Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary arrive in Southampton and are greeted by excited crowds.

This beautifully shot film was made by Matthew Nathan, an award-winning amateur filmmaker. It shows the arrival of the Queen Elizabeth, the George V dry dock,cleaning and painting hulls, the departure of the Aquatania for the breakers' yard, the opening of the new ocean passenger terminal and the arrival of Queen Mary.
