Overview

For Mavis and Derrick Plume and their sons David and Paul, Butlins offered the perfect family holiday environment with facilities and entertainment for all ages. As young Paul enjoys the rides and Mum takes to the sea, Derrick, it seems, is also very keen to film the 'Holiday Princess' competition! Butlin's Redcoats are on hand to organise swimming races for the teenagers whilst Paul tries his hand at what could be the 'Best Toddler Contest' and then takes Mum on at putting.

This treasured home movie of relaxed family fun and playing to the camera at Butlin's may well have been typical of many family holidays in Britain at the time.
