Bournemouth
The pleasures of Edwardian Bournemouth
Overview
The full panoply of pleasures of a day trip to the Dorset resort are on display in this attractive (but probably incomplete) film credited to the Co-Operative Cinematograph Company. The film takes in the vertiginous climb of the funicular cliffside railway and ventures inland to visit the pine forest at Branksome Chine, but like most visitors to Bournemouth, it lingers on the simple joys of the beach and the sea - for those hardy enough to brave the cold water.
