Beauty in Brief
A young bride-to-be models a modish nylon nightie before a voyeuristic camera in this silent 1950s striptease film.
Overview
A bride-to-be shows off a new addition to her wedding trousseau for her bridesmaid as the voyeuristic camera looks on in this slightly saucy striptease short, filmed in London. By discreetly turning her back to the camera while she undresses, the risk of viewers seeing any actual nudity is effectively avoided - as the young lady slips into a modish semi-see-through nylon nightie.
This was one of a range of home movies produced by forgotten British glamour filmmakers Pin-Up Productions, whose catalogue of cheeky, alliteratively titled releases also included Late but Lovely (circa 1957) and Cute and Candid (circa 1957). These not-very-naughty films - shocking in their day - were surreptitiously supplied on 8mm or 16mm film, possibly under plain cover, to a select clientele of discerning home cineastes for bedroom wall projection.
