Overview

A young writer is commissioned to produce a series of stories about the eerie figures in a waxwork exhibit, to encourage more visitors. Taking us on an Arabian adventure with the Caliph of Baghdad (Emil Jannings), a chilling visit to Ivan the Terrible’s (Conrad Veidt) dark reign over Russia and a terrifying chase by Spring Heeled Jack (Werner Krauss) – Paul Leni’s film (the final film he made in his native Germany) threads these narratives together with a charming overarching love story.
