              Overview

Introverted housewife Ann (Andie MacDowell in her career launching role) exists in a miserable relationship with her untrustworthy lawyer husband, John (Peter Gallagher), and she’s right to hold suspicion since he is engaged a salacious affair with her sister Cynthia (Laura San Giacomo). When John’s college friend, George (James Spader) arrives back in town, Ann finds herself captivated in his presence, but as their connection to each other deepens, Ann discovers George has a fetish for videotaping women as they confess their deepest sexual desires.

Bursting onto the 90’s American indie scene with this superbly audacious debut feature at just 26 years old, Steven Soderbergh bagged himself a raft of accolades, winning top prizes at Sundance, the Palme d'Or at Cannes and an Oscar nomination.
