Happy End
Isabelle Huppert and Toby Jones are among the cast in Haneke’s impressive satire about a well-to-do and French family oblivious to the migrant crisis.
Director: Michael Haneke
Overview
Twelve-year-old Eve is sent to live with her father’s wealthy family, the Laurents, in their sprawling Calais mansion. Oblivious to the migrant crisis on their doorstep, the Laurents’ inward gaze is focused on ensuring the stability of their construction company and familial unit. Michael Haneke presents a piercing satire of the disengagement of the privileged with the world around them.
