Waltz with Bashir’s Ari Folman has created an extraordinary animated film that keeps the hopes and legacy of Anne Frank alive for all ages.

In the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, one year from now, Anne’s imaginary friend Kitty comes to life. She is invisible within the house but once she leaves she can be seen and heard just like anyone else. While Kitty searches in vain for Anne, we visit the Frank family in the 1940s, who remain prisoners in a secret annexe as the Germans occupy their beloved city.

Ari Folman (director of Palme d'Or nominated Waltz with Bashir) was given special access to Anne’s diary and other archive materials.
