The final production to be filmed at the long forgotten Southall Studios borrowed a formula from Hammer Films’ Quatermass in adapting a successful BBC sci-fi serial, with future Hammer stalwart Jimmy Sangster providing the script. Featuring a cast that includes a young Warren Mitchell, The Trollenberg Terror is a tremendously enjoyable 50s sci-fi that weaves in telepathy, conspiracies, zombies, decapitations and a tentacled creature that ranks as among the most memorable in British sci-fi.
