Overview
Russia, 1913. Anna May Wong stars as Hai Tang, a beautiful exotic dancer in a celebrated Chinese troupe. She attracts attention from the Grand Duke, but refuses his advances because she is secretly in love with his lieutenant, Boris Borissoff. But when Hai Tang’s brother is arrested, she is forced to court the Duke in order to secure her sibling’s release.
The first talkie for Chinese-American star Anna May Wong, The Flame of Love was a bilingual co-production also filmed in German and released as Hai Tang.
