Mapplebeck has chronicled her life on film from when she became a parent, single-handedly raising her son Jim, fighting breast cancer and tackling the challenges of the pandemic. It’s an impressive testament to life in all its glory: the joy, the pain, the humour and the mess.

Sharing obvious similarities with Richard Linklater's's decade-long project Boyhood, whose cameras also started rolling in the early noughties, Mapplebeck delivers an epic coming-of-age portrait over 20 years, inviting us to witness Jim's transformation from ultrasound image through to adulthood.
