Isabelle Huppert delivers a gripping performance in the true story of whistle-blower Maureen Kearney.
Director: Jean-Paul Salomé
Overview
Isabelle Huppert delivers a gripping performance in the true story of Maureen Kearney, head trade union representative of a French multinational nuclear powerhouse, who became a whistle-blower, denouncing top-secret deals that shook the nuclear sector. But her life was turned upside-down when she was violently assaulted in her home. At first a victim, Maureen becomes accused of inventing her assault as the investigation is carried out under pressure, and new elements create doubt in the minds of the investigators.
Adapted from journalist Caroline Michel-Aguirre’s eponymous book, acclaimed writer-director Jean-Paul Salomé (Mama Weed, also starring Huppert) deftly presents this shocking story of injustice as both a sobering true-crime drama and enthralling corporate thriller.
