Overview
Adapting the true story of the devastation wrought in the town of Tangshan by a massive earthquake which killed more than 200,000 people, Aftershock also focuses on the years that follow as a family torn apart by the tragedy tries to pull itself back together.
Aftershock grossed more than $100 million at the international box office and remains the prime illustration of Feng Xiaogang’s talent as a filmmaker, and his ability to combine awe-inspiring special effects and an affecting story of love, loss and retribution.
