A Star Is Born
Judy Garland breaks your heart in a performance of devastating emotion.
Director: George Cukor
Overview
Hollywood star Norman Maine (James Mason) meets young hopeful Esther Blodgett (Judy Garland) and gives her a break. Before long they are married and she’s approaching stardom. But as he struggles with alcohol, Maine finds his star falling. Mason and Garland give outstanding, Oscar®-nominated performances, with Arlen and Ira Gershwin’s ‘The Man That Got Away’ providing one of the great musical renditions of the era.
