Overview

The Hammond family from Frinton-on-Sea in Essex holiday at Woolverstone on the Shotley peninsula in 1956. Wife and hushand, Joan and Ted Hammond, both accomplished amateur filmmakers took turns behind the camera, filming the family's escapades; journey by caravan from the family business, a garage in Frinton to Woolverstone in Suffolk, arriving at the Royal Harwich Yacht Club campsite, then exploring the coastal countryside, and on their sailing boat.

Joan and Ted Hammond were accomplished amateur filmmakers. They made films both individually and together, which covered a variety of subjects; family, local places, events, story and animation. They were founder members, with friend Sidney Manasseh, of the Clacton Cine Club in 1959.
