Sailing at Burnham Overy

Following a mock launching ceremony, Mavis and children navigate the shallow waterways of Burnham Overy in their little sailing boat, the Daisy Belle.

Notice the (swimming) costume changes throughout the film – you could say that Mrs Plume had a fondness for swimwear! Over the years she collected more than 500 items. Her swimsuit collection was donated, and can now be viewed at Southend Museums.
