Healey Holiday in Nefyn - September 1929
The Healeys from Lancashire have an unforgettable holiday in Wales, with beach hockey, pony riding and a trip on the Snowdon Mountain Railway.

Overview
The Healey boys and friend delight in securing a coveted seat on the Snowdon Mountain Railway train although Donald, and then his younger brother, Brian, refuse to keep their eyes open whilst being filmed! William, the eldest, sports a camera - he went on to shoot home movies like his father. What with the train ride and the excitement of beach hockey, races and pony riding, parents Percy and Alice have ensured an unforgettable holiday for their offspring.
Percy Healey was Chair of Healey Brothers Ltd., a rope and twine manufacturing business founded in Heywood, Lancashire, by his grand-father in 1843, the family contributing substantially to the provision of schools, a swimming pool and a library in Heywood. Here Percy records what appears to be a very happy family holiday, providing a store of good memories to fall back on in later years when he himself had a severe stroke in 1936 and Donald was killed in 1940 aged just 21, the SS Fiscus on which he was second radio officer being torpedoed. William (b.1916) and Brian carried on the business and in 1968 it was acquired by British Ropes Ltd. The Cartridge Ropery, established in Heywood in 1843, is still in operation.
