The Interview
A frantic race against the clock, in this amateur Oscar-winning tale of the unexpected. Will Rosemary make the interview in time?
From the collection of:
Overview
A flat tyre, dawdling driver and roadworks, it seems everything is conspiring to prevent Rosemary making the big job interview. Filmed in Comber and at the Seacourt teacher training college, this smart short from Gothic Films provides a dramatic snapshot of the small town as it then was, in the early-1980s. Local buildings, businesses, the dress and hairstyles of the era are sharply evoked.
Twin brothers Roy and Noel Spence have been making films like this for over fifty years; with subjects including crafty leprechauns, creatures from outer space, fifties rock 'n' rollers and the undead. You can enjoy many of these fantastical creations on BFI player. This film is courtesy of Roy Spence and is held in the Irish Film Archive.
