Overview

The Swale District Council's film shows how its forces are marshalled to deal with an oil pollution incident on the Isle of Sheppey's beaches. Waves of oil splash onto the beach, blown on by strong winds, while men from the council direct the cleaning operation. A variety of equipment is used, from bulldozers, which remove the polluted sand to tractors and men equipped with detergent sprays and cleaning machines. The film ends with the beach restored to its former state.
