Overview
Paul Plumb's 1963 film captures the launch of the RNLI lifeboat 'Dorothy and Philip Constant' which takes place at Kingston Beach, Shoreham. Crowds, assembled for the ceremony, see Princess Marina arrive, followed by a bishop and local dignitaries. After a blessing from the bishop, Princess Marina makes a speech and launches the boat. We get a glimpse onboard 'Dorothy' as she slides down the slipway. A helicopter flies overhead as the visitors depart and 'Dorothy' docks.
Paul Plumb was a founder and chairman of the Shoreham Cine and Miniature Camera Club from its inception in the 1950s up to the 1980s.
