Farne Islands
Impressions of birdland: around the Farne Islands with a movie camera.
From the collection of:

Overview
The Cleveland Cine Club brave attacks by swooping Arctic terns to point their cameras at the cliffs of the Farne Islands, off the Northumbrian coast. These rocks are a paradise for the ornithologist, with every ledge and crevice a perilous perch for nesting birds. Hermits and heroines have also found sanctuary here: Inner Farne was home to St Cuthbert, the world's first nature conservationist, and Grace Darling's epic rescue took place from Longstone Lighthouse.
This film was produced by Betty Cook, President of the Cleveland Cine Society and North East Cine Society, and a prolific amateur filmmaker working between 1964 and 1986.
