An independent charity and company based at the University of Lincoln, MACE acquires, catalogues, preserves and makes widely available moving image materials that inform our understanding of the diverse cultures and histories of communities between the Lincolnshire coast and the Welsh border.

Overview
Norman Mellor of Belper filmed this short reel of 8mm film showing parades in his home town. Children carrying flower garlands make their way along quiet streets to St Peter's church in the Derbyshire market town. The scouts that follow along Bridge Street have a few more cars to contend with but luckily a local policeman has turned out to help.
