Cobbler Makes Cricket Boots for World's Cricket Stars
Anglia TV visit the world famous cobbler for cricketers, Albert Whiting, in his Northampton shop.
From the collection of:

Overview
Anglia Television interview cobbler to the cricketing stars, Albert Whiting, whose Northampton shop sits just around the corner from the Wantage Road cricket ground. Whiting, a traditional shoemaker, shows us the drawn outline of cricketers' feet, the starting point for his custom-made boots. You could say, at the time, he was “The Cobblers” favourite cobbler! Although, Northamptonshire County are now known, of course, as the Steelbacks.
Whiting gained a reputation as a skilled cobbler, producing beautiful handmade customised cricket boots not only for Northamptonshire County players, but for cricketers all over the world. Albert Whiting retired in the mid-1970s and emigrated to Canada.
