The Media Archive for Central England is the public screen archive for the East and West Midlands. An independent charity and company based at the University of Lincoln, MACE acquires, catalogues, preserves and makes widely available moving image materials that inform our understanding of the diverse cultures and histories of communities between the Lincolnshire coast and the Welsh border.

North Leverton Mill
The only windmill in England to have seen continuous service. North Leverton's mill is a survivor from 1813.

Overview
Produced by the nearby Eaton Hall College of Education at Retford this film about North Leverton's historic windmill shows how it is no museum piece preserved in aspic but a vital working part of the local farming community, grinding barley for animal feed. To viewers of a certain age the commentary ("Perhaps you'll come and see it one day."), which is aimed at a young audience, coupled with the relaxed atmosphere brings back memories of Camberwick Green's Windy Miller.
North Leverton Mill remains in the ownership of the descendants of the farmers who had it built in 1813. Still turning and still working after more than 200 years.
