Sponsored by Unilever, who owned Bromborough, one of the largest privately owned docks in the world, the film personifies global trade facing both ways. African palm oil is unloaded, Port Sunlight produce uploaded. The dock was closed 30 years later, used for landfill and then redeveloped and opened to the public as Port Sunlight River Park in 2014.
