His Majesty Landing at Weymouth
A memorable day for Weymouth as King George V and the young Prince Albert attend the 1912 Fleet Review
Overview
It's a big day for Weymouth; a royal visit not only by King George V, but also the young Prince Albert, for the 1912 Fleet Review. The mayor and the usual dignitaries are lined up to greet the King as he arrives at the harbour. The cameraman has captured little of the crowds that would have been in attendance, but there's a lovely shot of excited school children standing in front of the pavilion, a sea of white handkerchiefs held high in the air - far more exciting than being in the classroom.
