Only Two More to Equal 'W.G.'!
Jack Hobbs reaches his 124th century at the Gentlemen v Players match at Lord's in 1925.
Overview
This short newsreel item sees Jack Hobbs taking the final runs for his 124th century at Lord's on 16 July 1925. Two short of WG Grace's record of 126 centuries, a month later Hobbs would equal and pass that milestone with two centuries against Somerset at Taunton. In this match, Hobbs captains the Players team - the professionals - in the Gentlemen v Players match, a fixture at Lord's between 1806 and 1962.
