Students work, play and graduate, the university hoping that they will leave its portals to be of service to their country, “under the blessing of heaven”.

The university year closes with the graduation ceremony, when students from Wales and from countries further afield, are presented with their degrees “in the hope that they will be given health and long life to serve their generation and their country under the blessing of heaven”.
