Overview
Littleover is a suburb of Derby, an industrial town that is home to Rolls Royce's aero engine factory where the Merlin engine for the Spitfire was manufactured during the Second World War. This made the town a potential target for Hitler's bombers. Although fifty people lost their lives during air raids between 1940 and 1942 the town emerged from the war relatively unscathed. Even so, it's good to know that the first aid provision in Littleover was the best it could be.
