Urdd Gobaith Cymru - Anenwadol ac Amhleidiol
Ifan ab Owen Edwards uses film to explain what Urdd Gobaith Cymru, the Welsh language youth movement he founded in 1922, is all about: service to God, Wales and humanity.

Overview
Exposition of the philosophy of the youth movement Urdd Gobaith Cymru founded in 1922 by Ifan ab Owen Edwards on Christian but non-denominational [anenwadol] principles, to be non-political [amhleidiol] and to promote and develop the spiritual, cultural and physical aspects of life for young people though the medium of Welsh.
Ifan ab Owen Edwards was a teacher, academic and writer, who inherited from his father – O M Edwards, Chief Inspector of Education for Wales – a commitment to the Welsh language and culture and to the fostering of both amongst the nation’s youth. Like other, similar movements of the time, a healthy body was regarded as the means to a healthy mind, and hygiene and cleanliness were the first steps to Godliness. Regimentation along military lines was also the order of the day for the children who were to be the good citizens of the future, bearing with them a respect for the past.
