Overview
A journey along Glossop High Street filmed by a camera fitted to a tram in the style known as a 'phantom ride'. Shawl wearing women, children crossing in front of the tram and people hurrying about their business make up this glimpse into a time more than a century ago. The final shot takes us on a slow pan across terraces and chimneys with the Electric Cinema, shining in its whiteness and modernity on George Street, an obvious landmark and likely destination for this film.
