Life in the wasteland - scenes from the rebuilding of a city.
Children play, and people continue their everyday activities, in this urban wasteland where fires burn as the slum housing of Salford is cleared away. A panoramic shot from the top of a tower block reveals the scale of the redevelopment of the city.
