British Army paratroopers are put through their paces and undertake parachute jumps over Tatton Park in Cheshire, July 1942.
Paratroopers train for their descent onto the frontline at Ringway and Tatton Park Parachute School in Cheshire. In just a few years soldiers like these would take part in some of the most significant battles of the Second World War, such as Operation Market Garden. A British staff officer also inspects troops at nearby RAF Ringway, before the trainees are seen descending from RAF aircraft.
