        Overview

Film maker George Weston ran the Majestic Cinema in nearby Ratby and here captures perfectly local life just before the outbreak of war. From the fancy dress competitions (look for the topical Neville Chamberlain, back from Munich, in 1939s event) to the fleets of carnival floats. But most of all marvel at the crowds of ordinary working people who flock around the camera and in doing help to capture a precious moment of real life.
