Sunny Hours at the 'GOGS'

Elderly guests from the Royal Albert Homes for Old People in Cambridge are treated to an afternoon of games and music in the grounds of the the Gogmagog Golf Club.

These wonderful scenes were taken by local businessman, William King, a keen golfer and member of the Gogmagog Club and also President of the Royal Albert Benevolent Society set up in 1846 to care for retired tradespeople. As part of his devoted work outside of business, Mr King would enjoy arranging outings and events for a number clubs and societies for people young and old. Today's guests were most probably the oldest but still a deft hand at putting, bowling and competing.
