A fascinating snapshot of everyday life in the Dover ward of Tower Hamlets.
Everyday life in Tower Hamlets is captured in this 1973 film. Starting with a man looking out over the townscape, we see him walking about the area and chatting to the residents. We see kids going to school, the paperboy, the milkman and lots of traffic. We see streets and houses as well as quiet gardens. Children's author, Kathleen M Duncan, shows off some of her books while the annual May Queen is chosen. The Eagle pub is featured as are scenes of construction on the chalk downs.
