Our Golden Wedding Day

50 'golden' years of marriage through two world wars is certainly worth a celebration, however modest, as this touching family film shows.

A film from one of the charming collections of amateur films recording everyday lives of ordinary people. This is a tribute filmed by a Mr Farrow of his two sisters with their parents as they gather to commemorate their Golden Wedding Anniversary. They take a stroll round the Motte or Castle Hill in their home town of Thetford, before returning home to cut the cake and raise a glass to 50 glorious years. The film was donated by David Hearn, Mr Farrow's nephew by marriage.
