Starks Park Kirkcaldy
Join a sports day in glorious sunshine at Stark’s Park, Kirkcaldy, featuring pole climbing and bicycle racing.
Overview
At Stark’s Park, Kirkcaldy - home of Raith Rovers - crowds have gathered in the sun to watch men and women take part in a sports day full of activities, many of them familiar but rarely seen together. There are women competing in the egg-and-spoon race and track cycling; men climbing the greasy pole or attempting the high jump (and not a Fosbury Flop in sight). In the background can be seen the new main stand. It was completed in 1925 and is still in use to this day.
