Friends Chris and Lluis reunite after years apart to hike 600 kilometres through the Scottish Highlands, in Bart Schrijver’s immersive drama.

Formerly inseparable friends Chris (Bart Harder) and Lluis (Carles Pulido) meet up after a decade apart to take on a 600 kilometre, 30-day hike through the Scottish Highlands. As they trudge through the quiet, unforgiving landscape, their attempt to reconnect with each other develops into a long-overdue reckoning, and an opportunity to articulate feelings previously left unspoken.

Dutch director Bart Schrijver - whose 2022 feature Human Nature focused on a hike in Norway - trekked the Highland route himself before filming began, and cast and crew hiked substantial sections of the journey, carrying all their equipment, food, clothing and tents. Shot on location and in chronological order, with the script often rewritten to accommodate the changeable weather, the aches, pains and fatigue that you see on screen are all too real.
