Overview
Rose, a flamboyant, wannabe movie star, is turning 60 and she's determined to celebrate like it's 1999. But her reluctant partner in crime is her daughter Genevieve: a buttoned-up, emotionally guarded woman barely holding it together after stumbling upon some devastating family truths. What begins as a day of forced celebration slowly unravels into something far messier-and more meaningful.
Inspired by true events, this short is a darkly comic exploration of the complexities of caregiving, the emotional cost of silence, and the strange, often ridiculous rituals we perform to avoid saying what really needs to be said. A Last Resort was made with the support of BFI NETWORK, awarding National Lottery funding.
