Overview
Illustrious leaders of church and state converge on the tiny cathedral of St Asaph for the inauguration of Alfred Edwards as first Archbishop of Wales. Despite the solemnity of the occasion, a relaxed atmosphere prevails. Prime Minister David Lloyd George is seen chatting casually; the Countess of Dundonald strolls with her party. At the Palace garden reception, the band of the Welsh Guards adds to the summery air.
