Lois Burwell on movie makeup

Lincoln, Braveheart and Magnolia make-up artist Lois Burwell explains how she created some of her most iconic looks, as part of a BAFTA Masterclass.

"People would assume that vanity is a feminine domain," says Lois Burwell with a smile. "That is not necessarily the case in my experience." That experience covers Gregory's Girl, The Princess Bride, Braveheart, The Fifth Element, Mission: Impossible, Saving Private Ryan and Lincoln. Remembering some of those titles, she explains how she attempts to create an iconic look.
