Director Tom Hooper joins composer Claude-Michel Schönberg and the sound team behind the film version of Les Misérables for a BAFTA masterclass. Hooper talks about his approach to film musicals, and the decision to record songs live on set. This allowed the cast to express themselves in a naturalistic way leading to real, gritty and extraordinary performances.
