Noah Ball of Northumbria University explains why you should seize the chance to watch Nicolas Winding Refn's debut, a gritty crime drama set in the criminal underworld of Copenhagen. Pusher tells the story of Frank (Kim Bodnia), a mid-level drug dealer on a desperate quest to earn money to pay his debt to crime boss Milo (Zlatko Burić).
Frenetic and brutally real, the film was also the feature debut for Mads Mikkelsen, who plays Frank's sidekick, Tonny.
