Venus Rising
Three women seek the truth about love from a crystal ball in an early Fay Weldon play about trust and jealousy.
Overview
A newlywed woman is drawn in by her fortune-telling neighbour in this twisted drama from writer Fay Weldon. Part of the Rediffusion anthology drama series Half Hour Story, Venus Rising is a taut tale of jealousy and manipulation with Avis Bunnage as Mara, a fortune teller who promises to tell you the truth by hands, cards or crystal. Annette Crosbie is enthralling as her fragile daughter Wendy, while Angela Douglas is the new neighbour drawn into their strange relationship.
