Weak and Wide Astray

Dougray Scott made his film debut in this BFI-funded shaggy dog (and rabbit) story.

A couple find themselves in a tricky situation when they discover the corpse of their neighbour's beloved pet - but their attempts to cover up the crime create more confusion. The title of this quirky short is a quote from William Blake’s poem Milton, which is recited at the beginning (by a leaf). Financed by the BFI Production Board as part of the New Directors programme, the film has rarely been seen since its one-week London run in August 1991.
